Week 6 Reflection
This week was more of a slow week but in the broadcasting world there isn't a day that goes by that communication is not key. There was actually some miscommunication about what time I was supposed to come in one of the days. Dan had sent me an email telling me when to come in and I only checked my email once and just went with that time. But, when I came in he wasn't there and the other broadcaster told me that I was not supposed to come in till later. I was confused because I could have swore I read the email correctly. I checked my email at the office and saw that he had sent me another email. I got really mad because I hadn't responded to let him know that I got it. I didn't understand why he did not call me to inform me. I came to realize that the way in which we communicate these days is not always the best way. Was I wrong for not checking my email every 5 seconds? Or was he wrong for not just calling me? I feel like the old ways of communicating are the best ways sometimes. How hard is it to pick up the phone and call? Now we have email, texting, Facebook, Twitter...etc. It is interesting to see where we are going with our communication and if it is beneficial or if it just adds complications in communicating...
